Styling tip
Don't hang the three in a straight line — that's what makes rope shelves read cheap. Stagger them at different heights in a loose triangle, with the lowest one about eye level from a seated position, and let one shelf hold nothing but a trailing plant so the greenery breaks the grid. In a living room, they work best on the wall beside a window rather than centered over a sofa, where the natural light catches the rope texture. If you're already using flat mounted floating shelves elsewhere in the room, keep these to a different wall — the two shelf styles compete rather than complement when they share a sightline.
