This phone game controller wraps around a USB-C iPhone or Android phone and turns it into a handheld console. It draws power from the phone, so you never charge it separately, and it adds a passthrough USB-C charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can play App Store games, stream through Xbox Game Pass or GeForce NOW, or use Remote Play from a PlayStation. Magnetic adapters let it fit most phones with a case on.

Styling tip

Keep it in a bag or a nightstand drawer next to your charger, since it needs no charging of its own. Backbone+ adds game recording and a universal launcher, but the controller plays games fully without it, so use the included trial before you decide to pay. Check your phone first: iPhone 14 and older need the Lightning version.
